You’ve done it; you’ve picked a college and you’re getting ready to start a completely new chapter in your life. You’ve talked to a million different people about what to expect, yet still feel completely unprepared. How do you know if you’ll get along with your roommate? What classes should you take first? How do you even pick a major? What should you decorate your room like? All of these questions are racing through your head. I know this, because they were racing through mine. I read every article possible on Pinterest to try and prepare, but nothing seemed to make me feel better. Maybe this is because I was the first one in my family to do it. Maybe this is because I didn’t know anyone going to my college. Either way, all I wanted was for someone to give me the answers I was desperately looking for. So that’s what I’m going to do here for my sister, who will be graduating high school next June. I’ll start at the beginning and document my experience in college as it happens. So, welcome to Lessons For My Sister; I hope I can help you navigate this new time in your life.
